A quartet of MacPherson tartans
Four MacPherson tartans: Clan, Dress, Undress and Hunting from a sample book of Wilsons of Bannockburn's patterns c1830-40.

These patterns show how 'clan tartans' were still being codified at this point in the 19th century and at least two had previously been known by other names and were probably Wilsons' designs:
Clan - Pattern No.43, Kidd or Caledonia.
Dress - MacKintosh
And the Undress tartan was the work of the Sobieski Stuart Brothers and was included in their Cromarty Mss of c1830.
Only the Hunting sett has any older connection with the MacPhersons.
