Tartan scraps for free - trying again

    Hi all,

When I posted last week that I had a big batch of tartan scraps that I was willing to give away, I didn't do a very good job of describing what was available, so I'm trying again. I had several people contact me asking if I could sort through and send them scraps for particular tartans. What I really want to do is give away a couple big boxes of scraps to someone who can use them, rather than sorting through for individual tartans.

I did have one person who would like a whole variety of scraps, and I'm sending him half of them. But I have two big boxes, and I'm looking to give away the other half as well. I'm looking for someone who would actually like a whole variety of tartans and might be willing to pay it forward by advertising whatever they don't want on XMarks and shipping them on to someone else.

There are scraps from several dozen tartans in the box, of all weights, plus give or take a dozen larger pieces 1/4-1/2 yd each. I just weighed each of the boxes, and there's about 40 pounds of tartan in each of the boxes.... . And, as in the previous post, I'm happy to give them to you if you pay for shipping.

    PM me if you're interested.

This is so cool. I wish I had a use for them!

(Back in high school I went with a bunch of friends to the local Highland games-- we went with a friend whose parents were from Scotland. One of my friends had another commitment and couldn't go, but while there one of the kiltmakers was selling scraps and I was able to pick up a bag of scraps in various versions of her family tartan, and pieced them together into a patchwork pillow for her. If I was really crafty and un-lazy I'm sure I could come up with plenty of uses for tartan scraps now!)

Truly, I do not want to go through 80 pounds of scraps (even though they are all neatly wrapped into bundles by tartan) to find one or two tartans....Sorry!

OK - I now well and truly have homes for both boxes of scraps. Thanks for your patience!
