Funeral
I was just informed my favorite Uncle passed away and I'll be attending the viewing on Thursday and the funeral on Friday kilted. Alot of the relatives I haven't seen in some time and they don't know about my kilts so this should be quite interesting. I plan on wearing my MacNeil of Barra kilt, tan shirt, black tie and black leather vest. My Uncle would love it and he'd get a kick out of the break in the sea of sameness. I'll skip the headgear though. The beret with the Clan badge would be a bit much for this occasion.

Thanks Avonlea, but, though I'll miss him, I'm not sad. He's gone to rejoin the love of his life, my Aunt, who passed away a few years ago. Their spirits are forever.

That's the spirit Bubba!
I wore a bright yellow aloha shirt to my little brother's funeral. I dressed for him, not for me.
Don't forget to touch the hands of your Uncle, if that doesn't freak you out....much can be passed on by holding the hands of those we love.

Bubba,
First of all I extend my heartfelt sympathy.
Second of all, the attitude you have is an inspiration.
Thirdly, I know that he will live on through the spirit of the entire family.

Thanks guys. He had a long and happy life and, at 87, it isn't like he went before his time. He lived his life to the fullest and had no regrets. He loved being the family eccentric and keeping the conformists off balance. The last year or so was very hard for him with serious health problems so I believe he was ready to go. I know he missed my Aunt dreadfully since she passed away after 63 years together. I'm sad that he isn't here with us anymore, but I'm sad for us, not for him. We'll all miss him.
