First Public Outing with my Wife: Kilting a Walmart..
Somewhere in south east Ohio or in West Virginia my wife and I stopped to get some supplies at a Walmart for our trip up into the mountains, amunition for my gun included, ( can't protect her by scare off the hoodlums with my looks. Ain't as ugly as Dr. Dougy yet.). She had yet to be with me in public while I was kilted except for a couple of rest stops along the way and that is clearly different then a walmart setting!
I watched her anxiously to see how she was handling it at first.. She did great, You would have thought she had done it a thousand times. Later I told her she handled it like a trooper. Knowing she was actually dealing with it inside even though it did not show. She said she just told herself " We are just going into a store like we have anyother time, it's no big deal.."
It was a good experience for her and me, no negative even if inquisitive looks. But here probably another first for that Walmart. Nice exposure. The next guy going kilted in there won't be the first.. Now Guys KEEP GETTING OUT THERE!

There is nothing like a supportive wife. More than once mine has straightened out an ignorant person before I could unlimber my tongue.

Supportive, and a quick thinker too, that's a real bonus!
Somewhere it is written that of a good wife: "She is worth far more than jewels!"
So true!

Mostly lurking. I find it enjoyable to see what others have to say.

bcmtnbka,
I've heard a couple of stories on another list of people having bad experiences at WallMart.
In one situation, a clerk made a rude coment. In another situation, a guy was turned out of the store for being kilted.
If those stories are true, things seem to have changed, since the UK website shows photos of WallMart employees wearing UKs on the job.
They also have a stated policy of reflecting in their employees the diversity of the communities they serve (or ruin, depending on your point-of-view).

I heard of them also, but I just thought that was the doing of one particular employee or Urban Legends
