    Enthusiasm

    Kilted Brethern,

I had such a rewarding experience this morning. I went to my usual haunt of a coffee shop and just as I was sitting down, at the community table with a friend who teaches high school. In walks one of his students to get some coffee, so he came over to schmooze with his teacher, saw my kilt and said real loud to his teacher, "this dude really does wear kilts, cool".

Secondly another friend came to the table and sat down and said his son was impressed with my kilt wearing when he was in yesterday, and James wants to get his son a kilt for his birthday (at his sons request). I gave him all the information on the kiltmakers that I carry with me.

Two high school lads I thought was enough excitement, but another guy who comes in from time to time (who has been out of school many years) came in and sat down and asked where he can get a kilt. Again information was shared.

Just a tough day early in the morning. What JOY

good news... i think we have to wait thenext generation to see the kilt becoming usual.

another benefit is that adults wearing kilts are perceived from the youth as cool, and appear as younger. or the would i guess interprete them as open minded: so kilting keeps us young...

The problem with the kids around here wouldn't be the kids, but rather convincing the school board to allow it.

Most young folks , as long as they're by themselves, seem to find the kilt A-ok. It's when they get together in groups that they bow to the whims of the Alpha teen present and make those stupid remarks.

might be, cause the alpha freak can t tolerate another self confident guy nearby...
but the future is unbifurcated and they will see that they could set trends without being rude

I have had some the most enthusiastic responses from teens. I think I may have out punked them.

Tough crowd Graham! But I am sure you are up for the task, after all you are the Grand Defender of the Kilt, an honor well deserved.
