My new kilt and bias-cut waistcoat from USA Kilts arrived yesterday, and I couldn’t be more pleased!
I was measured in person when I visited the store in January and ordered them to be made from Ancient MacColl 16-oz. tartan from Lochcarron. Since the tartan was not in stock I knew there’d be a delay until it was woven. The pandemic saw fit to shut down the mill (and most everything else besides), adding nearly four months to that delay.
Some members of this forum and another Facebook group showed me handsome examples of tartan waistcoats converted for daywear, so I asked Lucas at USA Kilts to throw in a set of antler buttons in case I want to work with a tailor here at home to do so.
Just a gentle press of the apron, and it’ll be ready for some “action shots.” Watch this space for more, but for now cock your head to one side and enjoy!
