New Uniforms For The Western Australia Police Pipe Band

The WAPOL Pipe Band today announced that, due to recent changes to health and safety regulations, they will be altering their uniforms to "make the band highly visible to the public."

I, for one, am a fan. Does anyone know what tartan this is though???

    Yes, but they are visible!

Ahhhhh April 1st.... the one day a year people don't believe what they read on the internet!

All in good fun. I can't imagine too many people took it seriously, but the band's announcement definitely made me laugh. As a guy who likes bright colors, I did send it out to a few people to see if I could get my band to follow suit though.

As a fan of the color yellow, I'm a little disappointed this isn't a real thing.

    That's hilarious!!

For sure the blue is easier on the eye.

Highland dancers' tartans are getting brighter all the time, though I've not yet seen them in full DayGlo hues!

There are other "traditional" dancers' competition costumes that have gone DayGlo: Irish dancing and Native American dancing.
