    Wool sweaters in unusual places!

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a wool pullover to wear with the kilt on casual occasions. Whilst in Boise this past few days, I popped in to visit an outdoor gear exchange (a vendor who buys and sells used outdoor equipment; clothing, mountaineering gear, cycling equipment, and the like.).

I was browsing the cold weather equipment and found a 100% wool 1/4 zip pullover in my size, for $35 usd. So, just a reminder for my American brethren- sometimes good kit can be found in strange places for decent prices!

There is nothing like a good woollen pullover when the elements are against you. It looks like you have made a sound choice for a cold, casual, kilted event.

Looks like a great sweater. I really like REI's house-brand stuff (looks like the tag on your sweater?) - great quality.

Yeah, it’s REI. Still, not something I expected to find, for sure.

I have something similar which refuses to wear out, even after the best part of 30 years - a Breton fisherman's jersey.

I remember seeing this style of jersey being sold in the 1980s with a light-weight cloth lining, which was intended to make the garment both warm and windproof.
