Pay a Little More, Jones a Little Less
Posted this on the UK board also, but think its useful news for men on this board too.
Just got a Waldenbooks gift card from my daughter for my birthday, so go online to spend it. Turns out Waldenbooks is linked to Amazon now. So did a search for "kilt" just to see what I might buy.
There, amid dozens of girlie bicycle kilts is the Utilikilt Black Workman's with the promise that it will be shipped within 4 to 5 business days. Price is just $215, $30 over the $185 price at the UK HQ. Suppose that's Amazon's cut.
But hey folks, I was a happy camper when my UK Black Workman's arrived in just four weeks last month.
If you want a UK Black Workman's fast (and your waist isn't over 40) check out the Amazon site. Just type "kilt" in the apparel search.
Looks like the UK folks are going big time with that Amazon link. Also means kilts are more popular and accepted.
Watching everyone gear up for the faire's wish they'd pull a couple of those kilts for me...I'm a done sale, not spec.
Back to jonesing for my UK Carmel Workman's and Blue Denim...only in week six and they told me when they took my money that they wouldn't ship until the end of November...

It actually say "usually ships in 4-5 days" and since I am now at week 9 for a book that "usually ships in 5-7 days" I wouldn't take my chances and pay $30 more to find out I have to wait just like always. 6-8 weeks. Plus with a black Workmans you've got a pretty good chance of them having it in stock. I have 8 UK's and I only had to wait for 3 of them. 1 I picked up at a Celtic festival.
