Polyester Glengarry?

Does anyone know a source for a non wool or polyester glengarry? I have someone in my band who can’t wear wool. The kilt isn’t an issue but now I need to find her a solid black glengarry.

Assuming you need a solid Glengarry, you might consider purchasing felted polyester and then using a wool Glen as a template. I'd guess with some stiffeners and basic sewing you could put one together without too much difficulty.

What would be easiest to use for the pattern would be one of the cheap Pakistani Glengarries which are assembled from separate flat pieces of woven fabric. They don't cost much and one could be disassembled into its component parts to serve as patterns.

Atlanta Kilts carry an acrylic Glengarry.
Choose the Tartan Glengarry for the non-wool version, then find solid black in the list.
Its not a bad looking bonnet.
(I am not affiliated with them in any way, only having purchased a few items from them a year and a half ago.)

I don't think the glengarry market is broad enough for there to be a lot of options for alternative materials. My guess is that if you did find a glengarry made from non-wool material, it would be a very poor quality imitation.

If the issue is a wool allergy, would it be possible to stitch in a cotton liner that would prevent wool-to-scalp contact?
