Kilt No.2 (This time it’s too big)
Hello, my new black watch kilt came today and I really like the quality, it’s yards ahead of the temu crap I had before, but when I went to try it on it’s too big, way too big, it fell off just from walking around, I did both the straps as far they will go too.
I’m sending it back, my kilt luck doesn’t seem that great…

Since you’re in the UK is there anywhere you can go to try one on before purchasing?

It might be worth learning to make your own. There are probably lots of tutorials on this forum.

Did you check with the maker on how to properly measure before ordering?

I'd suggest you look at where you should measure for a kilt, find your measurements and then watch ebay. Without too much trouble you can probably find a RRS kilt with appropriate measurements.
No idea where kilt 2 was from but for not too much more, the RRS kilt would likely be another big jump in quality and actually fit.

From what I know, it should be just above the naval?

Tartanista, honestly nice quality for the price, I don’t know who RRS are but I do keep an eye out at thrift shops and eBay, hopefully the next kilt will fit so I know my kilt size.

Nothing to do with the navel. That's in a different place on everyone's body since it's in soft tissue, so that may be a big part of your problem. Different kilt makers will have you measure in different ways. Do some searches on the forum here for better instructions.
