Brown Watch
As I look ahead to my next kilt (yes, it's really in the distant future...oh, sure) I'd really like a more earthy tartan. I've seen swatches of the Brown Watch tartan out there on the Interwebs, but wasn't sure if anyone had a kilt made up in that pattern. Also, which of our friendly neighborhood kiltmakers offers this fashion tartan? I see that Celtic Croft has it, anyone else?

I'd be interested in seeing a kilt in Brown Watch too. I haven't looked at a swatch yet, but imagine it would be similar to a hunting pattern. I'm off to go look...

It would look nice, but Brown Watch is generally only available in Lightweight from either Strathmore (11.5 oz.) and I believe Batley (11 oz.).
If you you really like the earthy tones, Black Watch Weathered in 16 oz. Strome might be a better option.

The second tartan (ST 7812) was the one I was thinking of. Looking at our advertiser's sites, it seems that only Celtic Croft carries it, though the Buccleuch that Rocky has at USAK is very similar.

Why not just get the Black Watch sett in Lochcarron's weathered color scheme?

I remember that someone here got a Brown Watch kilt a while back...I was very impressed by it and it's one of the ones on my "want list".
If'n I remember correctly, there was some discussion of how Brown Watch would work as part of a uniform...for the US Forest service, I think.

It might just be the way it appears on my screen, but the weathered Black Watch seems to lack the green colors the Brown Watch has.
And I did see that old post about the Brown Watch making a fine uniform tartan. I wonder if anything ever came of that.
