    My wedding July 16

What can I say I'm just a touch behind in sharing this with the rabble, but encouraged by a recent thread asking for members to share photos I finally got the kick in the pants I needed. My new bride and I were married this summer in London, Ohio at a small B&B. This is the second wedding for both of us so we really didn't feel the need for a big wedding (not that we had the budget for it anyway). We invited close family and the brides best friend was her matron of honor. Thankfully, enough members of the brides family owns kilts that there really was no debate about what I would be wearing for the wedding. Infact, she told me right after I proposed that I should wear my kilt. All told we had 6 of the 10 men in attendance kilted; the father of the bride, both her brothers, my brother (wearing a kilt of mine as best man), my son whom was 4 at the time of the wedding, and myself. We hired a piper and he told me that in 20years of playing pipes for weddings this was the first one he had been to where the kilted guests owned their kilts and didn't rent them. I asked how he was sure and he simply remarked "Because every one of you is wearing a different tartan." As you are looking at the pictures the purists among the rabble will want to avoid looking directly at my father-in-laws tie. I don't believe THD involves a Looney Tunes tie warn with a PC, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. That tie belonged to the brides favorite uncle whom passes away just after we met, and was warn in memory of him. Just like I wore some of the Susan G Komen flashes in honor of my mom; a breast cancer victim. The bride gave approval to her dad to wear that tie the morning of the wedding but I had no idea so it was a humorous surprise for me. Hope the rabble enjoys the pictures.

    Great pictures, cruiser.

Just shows that it doesn't have to be a monster huge event to be a meaningful celebration. Is that your son? His smile is infectious - you can't help but feel happy to look at it.

    Regards

    Chas

Yes, that was my son. First day out and about kilted for him, and he was very excited before the big day when we asked if he wanted to wear a kilt. Now if only I could have kept him from untucking his shirt all day. There were some truly great pictures that were taken of him that I may add to the post later on. One where he is helping the friend that played music for the reception with his sound check.

Actually, I was just about to post (when I read this comment) that my favorite picture of the bunch was your avatar...and your son's shirt half-way out. To my mind it is indicative of the fact that the little ones were having a good time at this family celebration. No doubt he felt "all grown up" being dressed like his dad and uncle. Wonderful pictures. God's blessings on you, your bride, and your family.

Here's a few more of my son kilted. I personally love the first one, but just wish he wasn't covering his face.
