    Budget bunny sporrans

Okay...I just have to ask...does anybody have any experience with the budget bunny dress sporrans? I refer to those that are priced in the $40-60 range that are sold by Kiltmart, Giving Tree and a couple of other ebay-ers.

I have to go to one black tie event next month and popping for a "real" dress sporran (much as I would enjoy it) would put me in the scheiss with my wife...it was bad enough that I had to go out and get my retired tuxedo waist jacket (from the other thread).

I assume that these sporrans are from the Semi-Far-East but are there more than one tiers of these products? I see one seller going $39.95 and another going $55.00 on them and it's difficult to see from the ebay photos whether they're the same thing or not.

Quality can vary widely, even in a batch from the same manufacturer. Make sure you check the cantle for grinding marks and peeling plating. Make sure in advance that they will exchange it if there is a problem. The days of Scottish fair vendors selling those things for $99 are over. $40-$55 is generally a fair price for a generic Pakistani bunny sporran. Avoid the goat ones.
