Lamont Tartan
How many have and wear the Lamont Tartan? I'm curious because of the limited 'off the rack' Lamonts available. I think it is time to stand up.
In retrospect, I may have posted this on the wrong forum.

I'd wear Lamont, if I could find it for a reasonable price. I agree. The problem is Clan Lamont wasn't a large clan to begin with, then we scattered after that last Campbell encounter.

Stillwater Kilts has a 13 oz wool in weathered Lamont for about $120.
I have one and its a far better kilt that the price would indicate.

I saw, unfortunately it is for a waist size 6" smaller than mine. I sure wished otherwise.
I'm hoping that if enough of us indicate we are interested in a Lamont, some of the vendors will take notice.

I got just my Lamont Ancient (pictures in due time will be posted) from Matt Newsome. I wore it this past weekend to the Tacoma WA Highland games, fun was had by all. It was my first venture in a kilt, much easier than I expected. As far as I know I didnt flash anybody ( I didnt hear any groans or laughter).
The Kilt fit just great and is top quality sewing according to my wife who is a fair seamstress. I can't do buttons.
THANKS MATT
I got my belt from Steve @ Oconee Leather Works, it looks great also.
my hats off to both vendors who were very patient with a newbie, I had a million questions and they gave great guidance. Thanks Guys

Congratulations. I just ordered an ancient Lamont from Matt this weekend. I have awhile to wait yet. But will endure.

My first Kilt an 8 yard "Tank" which I bought some years ago in the 90's is in Lamont. The family name being Lemon(d) the d was dropped some time in th early 1900's acording to my father. I have a couple of casual kilts but sadly niether in Lamont! However I have recently become aware of the Kilt making talents of Mr. Matt Newsome and am saving my pennies for one of his 4 yard box pleated kilts! Which I should like to have made in Lamont. I seem to be on my way to becoming an every day kilt wearer!
Cheers,
Mike

That encounter was a couple of centuries ago. I'd like to think we've recovered by this time. I suspect there are enough of us around, it's just time for us to be noticed.

I have a Lamont Great Kilt from Celtic Croft. My grandmother was a White so I was happy to have it. I am also so tied to the Bruce Clan too.
