kilted Octoberfest!
I was just wondering I have a two week break in October from my job...does anyone know when and where there is an Octoberfest where me and my wife can participate?I live in CT and there are no Octoberfests here....not a lot of Germans, but if there is an Octoberfest where a lot of x-marksthescot members come it would be awesome to meet some of you guys!

Here's an idea, Let's invent a fest! We can call it "Kiltfest." We can celebrate it once a year, or anually, whatever works best. We can lead up to it for two or three days until the highlight day when everyone gets blotto or pissed and realizes that it's KILTDAY and it's time to celebrate!!!
Now if that doesn't work we can celebrate Kilt Day today! I planned on it anyway
pass the lime please?
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Not sure where you are in CT, but I just did a search and this came up:
http://www.newportfestivals.com/Oktoberfest/
Newport Rhode Island has one.
You might have better luck searching for CT Oktoberfest celebrations and see what you get. I used New England Oktoberfest celebrations as my search criteria.

Do I have to take along a sequined ball gown in case a fight breaks out??

Oktoberfest, despite the name, actually tends to happen in September.
Here's one in Pennsylvania... I don't know how close it is to you, though. I suspect if you google "Oktoberfest" and the name of a state, you'll find interesting listings.

Yep, MacDougall i right. September. We have a decent one, close to CT (relatively speaking), at Wachusett mountain-the local ski place. They put on a decent shindig...I think I may actually attend this year.
