ghillies question
OK last night I blew out the sole of my wing tips. Fortunately I have ghillies on order. My question is could I wear normal laces with ghillies. Also what is the correct lacing proceddure for ghillies?

I wouldn't use normal laces for ghillies, as it just will not look right, as for how the laces go you should wrap them around here is a website with some pointers, and here is a video

Regular laces would look pretty dumb on ghillie brogues. McMurdo has given you excellent links to learn to tie the laces.

A good shoe repair place can put new soles on the shoes. If the wing-tips were good shoe to begin with it might be worth it.

Glued soles is not a sign of quality that I'm aware of. However I shall take them in and see what can be done. It will always give me that option, ghillies or wingtips.
