Wooden kilt - chip off the old block?

This has to take the biscuit, it's true though. A furniture designer has made a wooden kilt. The mind boggles thinking about splinters, especially for the regimental wearers - http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/la...ker.5101510.jp

The article itself states that it lacks pleats and therefore can't really be called a "kilt" and surely that goes against the grain...
