My casual kilt came in and here's the review

I started a post a little while back stating I would like to review my Scotweb casual kilt, but it had not come in. It came in today, and although it took longer than I thought it would, I am very pleased with the kilt. It is a MacDonald of Clanranald, 5 yd kilt (16oz), and it is beautiful. This is my first 5 yd wool kilt and since I will be moving to Hawaii soon, I figured I should start getting lighter kilts. Compared to the 8yd Buchanan kilt that arrived last week (thanks Woot22) it is quite a bit lighter due to the shallower pleats. Scotweb did a great job with the pleating though, pleating it to the horizontal stripe (I am sure this is due to the shallow pleating); I love the look of it. I purchased a casual P/V MacDonald kilt from Scotweb a little while back so I kinda knew what to expect (minus the wool of course). The only problem I can find is that the belt loops are off center. I am sure I will get one or two more of these, I just won't hold my breath on the delivery date.

    That's great news, but
Modern Colours? 'Vertical' stripe, I assume you meant.
    Really, stop teasing me.

Here are my pics. I love this kilt.

Would this be considered pleated to the horizontal stripe?

Nope, That is pleated to sett. Nice. Ooopps nope again, after a better look.... I think its pleated to something not bad looking, though I don't know how to call it.

The kilt looks great. The straps in back are typically for threading the sporran strap through rather than the belt...just a suggestion.

It appears to be pleated to the black and thin red stripe.

I'd say "Great Kilt" man, but I wouldn't want to be mis spoken...lol. It's a very nice kilt. I too have heard good things about Scotweb. I just ordered my first "tank" from Rocky a month or so ago, and very much anticipating it's arrival. However, I am addicted, and wish to order my second kilt in yet another of my Scottish connections. We'll have to see how well the USAkilt looks when it comes. All the best, friend,

This is neither pleated to the stripe nor the the sett.

The pleating appears to remove the vertical blue portion of the sett. There appear to be three pleats per sett to accomplish this. It is very sharp looking regardless.
