    The Forest Laird

I picked up a copy of this book, "The Forest Laird: A Tale of William Wallace" by Jack Whyte. So far it is a pretty easy read and fairly interesting. Any other X markers out there pick it up? It's supposed to be a trilogy, book 1 Wallace, book 2 the Bruce, book 3 Good Sir James.

Found an interesting article as well concerning the first book.

I picked up a copy at Costco last month. Have not yet even opened it. I take it that Mr W, having written up all the Arthurian stuff possible, is working his way north? Anyway, I'd be most interested in a review....

While searching for information about the book, I came upon this review by a reader on the Amazon site. He seems knowledgable about the author.

I really enjoyed his Arthurian and Templar series. We'll see. . .

Huge fan of Jack Whyte and I will be picking up the new series. I always felt that he described the tale of King Arthur as if it could have really happened. Felt sad when it had to end.

I'm also a fan of the author and just ordered a copy from north of the border.

Yep, I got the book for X-mas and finished it a few weeks ago....very good read. I am not normally into fantasy type reading but this was very well written and I could barely put it down. No info yet on a release date for the next instalment though
