Some Good "Kilt Country"
No pics of today's kilt (Douglas Weathered), but I've done that before. Today I want to focus more on the environment.
I used to love hiking kilted in the Marin Headlands, just across the Golden Gate Bridge north of San Francisco. Now I love it again, having gotten a hip upgrade at the end of February.
Today was my first time back there since then. I was off from work today since it's Shavuot and my workplace was closed. I went first to Sausalito for lunch and some time browsing the boutiques and art galleries there (and garnering a lot of favorable looks, and even a nice comment or two, from both gals and guys). Then back over the hills to the Headlands. We're moving into our summer coastal weather pattern, chilly and misty; and it was easy to imagine myself in, well, another place.

I didn't meet up with anyone out on the walk itself, but I got a number of definitely "checking me out" looks from lasses in the parking lot as I was heading up the hill. My favorite was a really pretty early-20s brunette who was coming down from a hike with some friends: She met my eyes and smiled, then immediately dropped her eyes and blushed as she said hello while doing that reflexive hair-preening thing the lasses do when they're interested.

Good story and nice photos. Yes, I too enjoy the subtleties in a woman's manner.

Lovely pictures, Dale.

Beautiful photos of a part of the U.S. that I haven't seen before. Thanks for the link to them.

Good pics and even better to know that the new hardware is working out.

Loved that show when I was a kid.

I wish you'd send me some of your summer weather. It's been sunny and in the mid-90s here. It's easy to imagine I'm in another place, too.

Nice photos Dale. Good to see you are out walking again.
The last time I was in the headlands was in the mid '90's. I always enjoyed my walks there. Our climate here on the coast of The State of Jefferson is very similar. One of the reasons we moved here (however, we don't have the view of San Francisco.)

I agree; and if I ever relocate from here, I'd prefer that it be up thataway. Not just for the climate but for, in a number of senses, the environment.

Beautiful photos! I remember those summer weather patterns. If there's one thing I miss about California (besides certain people), it's the fog blowing in from the ocean. We could use some of that weather here in Texas right about now.

I understand. My family arrived in San Francisco in 1839. We had been watching the erosion since the '60's, and by 2003 it became apparent the writing was on the wall.
While I no longer have that incredible view of San Francisco when I hike,...I do have this one from time-to-time.
