New Box Pleated Matt Newsome X Marks Kilt
My first Box Pleated Kilt, in the X Marks the Scot tartan, from Matt Newsome arrived today!
Here are the pics:
I think my left hand was pressing on the side of the kilt and caused the extra fold on the picture of the back. It hangs perfectly.
I think I got about the last 4 meters of the last run. It has made at least 3 trips across the Atlantic Ocean, maybe as many as 5.
MacWage has the other half, but here it is, and well worth the wait.
Thanks Matt for a wonderful Kilt! (Number 9 overall)
Tom

Very nice! It looks good on you and with the Arran sweater.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Congratulations on the new kilt, it looks great, was wondering did you make the sporran strap you are wearing?

A_HAY,
I really like that kilt, the pleats seem to be smaller than most of the box pleat kilts I have seen. It looks great, can you tell me how wide the top of the box pleat is?
Thanks,
Keith

The sporran strap was purchased at the military post exchange. It is flat braided, just over 1 inch wide. Very comfortable because it has some flex. Cost about $10. I made the sporran mayself. Additional pics are under the DYI forum.

The Kilt is pleated to the yellow stripe. The pleats are 2 1/8 inches wide by my measure.

It looks right. Head to toe, shoes to sweater, kilt to spectacles, a man in a kilt, comfortable with himself and his attire. I quite like the sweater.
