    Sgian Dubh

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone would be interested, but I was looking around for inexpensive and slightly different looking knives etc to use as a sgian (I hate those nasty black plastic handles on the cheapy fake and real sgians, I can't afford a nice one, and I don't have time to make one ), and I came up with these:

    http://www.blades-uk.com/view_items....id=96&start=10
(scroll down to » Celtic Dirk (8412) « at the end)
    For daywear
    and:
    http://www.shop-com.co.uk/Celtic_Bot...l?sourceid=309
for evening/anytime when kids or alcohol are involved
(obvious shipping bias for someone is in the UK)

I would be tempted to get one of these except they are of questionable legality in the UK:
    http://www.barproducts.com/media/barsamarai.htm
    http://www.liquorsnob.com/archives/2...le_openers.php

The handles should really be replaced with antler or something for sgian use though :-)

Hope those links are of use to someone, and if anyone wants to, I could maybe post some pictures/impressions when they arrive....

    Sgian brews

Yes, I had a look at that website, and I will hopefully buy a nice one when the funds permit. He also sells blanks for those with the time and skills to make their own :-)

    I have this one: http://www.swordsofhonor.com/sgiandubh1.html

It has a wood handle, nickel plated accents, and a carbon steel blade. The blade can be sharpened to a very nice edge. I found it perfect for the price, and most importantly, no resin handles.
