Scottish hats
I recently received an item from a store in Scotland. What I thought I ordered was a flatcap
what I recieved looked like this:

Is this a language problem, or could it be a order mix-up? Mistakes get made, and I am sure the store will correct the order. I want to make sure I am using the correct terminology.

That would depend on what it was called in the store and if they had any pics of it when you bought it. If they did and you got somthing different thats their mistake, however if there werent any pics it depends what it was called in the shop could just be that you have bought a hat thinkin it was a flatcap

Your first picture is a flat or country cap. Your second looks like somebody's grandmother tried to hand knit a tam, but does not look like any flat caps I have known. Unfortunately the term is used fairly broadly in some places. So check with where you ordered it from---website photos or descriptions---to see if what you see is what they described.
Good luck.

The hat I received was wool, the picture showed the style. I went back to the site, and the picture of the hat and the price are missing. I am sure it is just a fluke.

If it fits send a picture of you wearing it so we can get a better idea.
