    X.2 Black and Grey

Again, in response to the request to post a photo in return for downloading the x-kilt instructions, I submit the following.

A year ago, while at the Portland, Oregon English country dance ball, I saw this fabric at the local Mill End store. I thought it was perfect for doing a little experiment. If you look close you might find that the first and last pleats are knife-pleats while the rest are box. I am calling this my X point 2 kilt. I has become my favorite everyday kilt. (I have since found the appendix to The Art of Kilt Making concerning box pleats and will try that method in the future)

These last two photos where taken a little bit ago while preparing for a day off the vessel where I work.

I'll go a step further - is that the Highland Granite (or the variation) tartan? I have been "eyeing" that for for myself.

No, that's not highland granite, but I haven't been able to find out what it is. That is why I thought it was good for experimentation with the new pleat pattern.

"The Vessel That You Work On" appears to be the Lady Washington.

Now, that is my idea of heaven...working the Lady Washington in a kilt, and a handsome kilt, at that.
