Wouldn't touch acrylic for the fire risk, but got a similar priced PV from an eBay seller as an experiment. It is not really suitable for outdoor use being too light. Ordered a 34, received a 32, and that turned out to be too big! (My waist is 33".) Can't send it back as I paid £10 extra to get it shortened, so I will just move the buckles and cut another strap slit. Pleats are not even and seams stitching shows on front side, but for £19.95 you cannot expect much else.
The kilt does actually measure 32"on the theoretical tightest setting, which you cannot achieve as the belt hole is too close to the material. If I were you I would order a size 2" smaller than you think you need, then the straps will work as intended. I'm talking about casual wear positioning similar to trouser waist position.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
