I was so hung up on black leather for the longest time that now, I'm really digging the brown. And don't worry- Lamar's next project for me is a brown belt to go with your buckles. 
I've actually been looking forward to said belt since before the Elder Sign buckle, as I think the chi rho buckle will look AWESOME with that brown sporran... especially when worn with the weathered Ross tartan.
