To answer your question, it's certainly a personal preference. I myself always tuck my shirt in, even if it's a t-shirt.
Yeah, the Highlanders wore their kilts in-ring. Unfortunately neither is still employed by WWE. Funny story about them though- my friend, who has been in WWE's (then) training school OVW for several years, was nearly asked to BE one of the Highlanders. He was passed on for a more experienced wrestler whose "accent" was a bit more over the top.

With all that said I say do what is comfortable and what is easiest for you to sell. It may be to that the untucked shirt may make some spots easier.

    That's my humble opinion.

P.S. When I was trying to come up with a gimmack I thought of a Scottish angle but the kilt was to expensive. Wish now I would have known about some of the inexpensive models available.
That's the second worker I've met here, that's fantastic. Where and how long were you in the business? I'm green as grass, I'm wrestling my fourth match later tonight. So, any time you feel like laying down some advice or wisdom, I'm always glad to listen to someone who knows more than I do.

As far as being in the ring goes, I wear a t-shirt now because my body isn't great. I'm never going to be ripped, but I need to tan and tone a bit before I can pull off wearing a singlet and a kilt. And yeah, leaving my shirt untucked gives me considerably more mobility in the ring, and keeps me from getting too warm- because as of now I'm wrestling in a wool one. My first Sportkilt is on its way right now, though, I'm hoping it works considerably better in the ring. It should also be better than wool for rolling around in blood, sweat, snot, and spit, too.
