It actually might be fairly easy. . You can send a regular four-in-hand tie to the folks at that link I posted, and they will rebuild the tie into a bow tie. I do come across wool ties, from time to time, at the second hand and Good Will stores.
Well talk about live and learn - I didn't think that was possible. I have a few RAF ties; I will drop them an email to see about converting one to a bow-tie.
