Personally, I don't think rubber boots go with kilts any more than ponchos do... Although, proper 19th century English LEATHER Wellingtons (or a modern facsimile thereof) might be fine... I used to wear them when I portrayed an Infantry Pioneer as a member of the Fort Henry Guard.
It seems that turning down one's hose and eschewing garters whilst wearing boots seems to be a popular convention. That's good to know.
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.
