Yeah that sounds about right. I guess it's true, alot of people have descendents that have been this way for that reason. Meanwhile yours was RAF...
Moncton isn't too bad now, it's small enough to be peaceful enough, but big enough to offer what one needs for the most part. True scottish country is in Nova Scotia, it's really quite remarkable. Cape breton especially, or towards Antigonish. Going to highland games there less like a re-enactement than it does in most places... it's hard to describe.
