Seems to me that if the other men are in grey jackets, wearing a black jacket would make you not match.
If price was no object I myself would obtain a jacket in grey of about the same tone as Morning Dress jackets, and get a kilt in a grey tartan such as Highland Granite. Grey hose as well.
In other words, I would try to acutally match in with the other men, rather than theoretically match.
A jacket and kilt like this, but the jacket of fine grey barathea, not rustic tweed:
