New US Army Kilt Belt
I posted one pic of this on another thread, but wanted to post more pics.
With my interest in history and reenacting, I had the idea a couple years back that a Civil War Era Federal/Union saber belt or officer's belt with a two piece brass buckle would make a great kilt belt. It's been on my "list" since that time...but you know how that goes. It seems every time I looked at the website, the price was $5-$10 more than when I had last looked...so I finally decided to place my order back in February.
When I ordered, I got immediate confirmation that they'd get it made and shipped out. Knowing that it wasn't a "pull it off the shelf and drop it in the mail" type of situation, I was prepared to be patient...but a month later had received no word. I emailed the company to receive a response back the following day that they had had delays with a leather shipment, but that they expected it that week. Two or three more weeks...still nothing. Finally when I was about to call and cancel my order last friday, I received a UPS email that same day that the company had shipped a package to me. I finally received it today. I can't say that I'd recommend the company, but I'm quite happy with the product, the look, and the fit!
First, here's a pic with a commercial version buckle on my "gunbelt" that I have been wearing now for a couple of years. The belt is only 1.5" wide. A bit narrow.

Now here's the new belt and buckle...much better IMHO.
