My Version of the Jacobite Sporran.

Glascow Museum and Sir Stuart Threipland of Fingask Sporran

After seeing Nighthawks rendetion of this sporran I had to try to make one. Here are the photos I used for designing it and the final product.

Very nice! How large is it? Can you do a picture with a ruler by it? I can see how the flap closes, but how do you open and close the pouch? Or is the opening large enough to get your hand in without opening the pouch?
    Sorry for all the questions.

The pouch is a 21 inch in diameter circle. I will try to get a picture with a ruler tonight and post it tomorrow. The tassels are actually functional drawstrings similar to those found on old canvas bank bags. The drawstrings oppose each other to close, so you have to pull on both at the same time to close the sporran.

    Thumbs up

Congratulations on a great bit of work! It's just shy or a visual reproduction. I like that you put your own spin on it and came up with a way around obstacles. Nice

OK, I see it now. Thanks. I'm very impressed with this sporran. I like the color and the shape. I look forward to more pictures and one of it being worn.

A excellent job Harold and I really like the colour of the leather you used.
Not being a huge fan of jacobite drawstring sporrans, this one has made me have a rethink. Cheers to you Sir
