I finally have a good one. The first knife I ever made is still my go to on my workbench; I am really enjoying that one though it isn't very pretty.
#2 and #3 were better, but not ready for prime time.
Finally, I have a good one, same stick tang style as the first three, same "poor man's pewter" bolster as the first three, just got it right this time.

Handle is a fragment of fossil walrus ivory. Blade is the smallest stick tang I could find on Track of the Wolf. The coloring in the fossil is decent, I spent about two hours on it with 150 grit to clean it up and then smoothed it out some with 400 grit. Probably this fragment was used as some ind of punch awl once upon a time, the "handle" was already formed, I just sanded it clean.

I have made two sheaths now from wet molded leather. This last one came out OK, I will probably come back and make a replacement sheath for this when I get better at it. It seems like the hotter leather is the better it stretches, but the more it burns my fingers trying to mold it around stuff.
