but I just couldn't do it. My wife and I are splitting after 3 and a half years of marriage (her decision, not mine). I'm pretty torn up about it. We're divorcing as friends though. Which is a lot better, as the "I hate you and we'll never see each other again" kind of divorce would have crushed me. Not that I'm not crushed anyway, but this way I'll still get to see her and know she's alright. I may be a little more scarce for awhile, but I've said that before. It's just that my world is ending, you see.

At least since we had a commonlaw marriage rather than a paper one (for religious reasons that aren't suitable discussion for this board), we don't have to deal with the courts. Of course there's all the household splitting, the fact that we just signed a new lease on the apartment, and figuring out who's going to be in the best position to take custody of the cat.

Oh man, it's hard to keep it together, but I'm gonna do the best I can. And cry a lot in the meantime.

sorry to hear it didn't work out... take yer time, and keep a positive outlook...I know.,..easier said than done.. there'll be another keeper out there somewhere..and you'll stumble upon her when yer not even trying to find her....

I bawled like a baby after 20 years...that was 20 years ago. And there's NO WAY I'd ever trade the fun and love that have come my way since the split to be back with that woman.

This world if full of great ladies. When you're ready...on line dating waits...its just common sense if you think about it. You'll find most compatable ladies on line that you'd never find scouting bars, churches, schools looking for "Ms. Right."

And its a LOT of fun meeting and dating different ladies.

Remember though, you can't find Ms. Right if you're in a relationship with Ms. Better Than Nothing.

100% of all divorces start with a marriage. We've survived and prospered. You will too.

Been there, Done That,
Moved from Houston to Park City, Ut. (Ski Bum)
A little drastic but was a great move.
Must make ready for a change even if you were not expecting the change.
Now 27 years latter have been Married for 11 and still loving it.
So not to worry. Life only sucks for a little while.

Keep this in mind, everything happens for a reason. It may be that she is being removed from you life so that something else can happen that will benefit you. Always keep a positive outlook

Charles, sorry to hear about you and Helena. As the others have said, you will survive and find someone. Joyce and I are both on our second time around and neither of use was looking when we met. Remember out 2nd Saturday kilt nights and meet up with us some time. Peace.
