I'm originally from Boulder, just down the road. It is really a wonderful event. Just a word of caution: Yes it is the first weekend after Labor Day, still summer right? Not necessarily in Estes Park. I've been at these games where it has rained, sleeted, been windy, cold, hot, and snowed, all on the same day! So take clothing along just in case. You've been warned, now do what you want.

You are so right! Those of us who are used to playing at those altitudes (7500 ft) know how fickle the weather can be. Since it's going to be in September I'm hoping for some beautiful 'Indian Summer' weather rather than the 87 degrees they're getting this week.

Good thing my parents live up there and I keep some extras there in case they're needed. Of course, I always have rain gear. Heck, I even remember back a few years ago waking up to 6" of snow on the ground on Sat am. of the games.

Livingston - Oh how right you are. I was there, camping with my family. Went to the games and returned late that afternoon to find that my tent had been ripped from the tie downs and loaded with sleeping bags, etc., thrown into a barbed wire fence and shredded. Thank goodness for having a new role of duct tape! Then the next morning there was 6" of snow on the ground!
