Argyll Kilt

Hello all,
My youngest was married last month (Sean- on the left), and I bought kilts from Heather & Thistle, a kilt shop in Keene, NH. The owner, a scotsman, was great, the kilts fit well, and when all was said and done, the cost was $600 each kilt, but worth it. The kilts are beautiful and quite heavy- tagged "Argyll" in the waistbands.
I really enjoyed wearing the kilt, and plan on wearing for all festive occasions. We are all 6'5"-6'7" in height- I think these are 8 yard kilts, knife pleats??
I'd like to order some more- but new to all this terminology. Is Argyll a good company?

Re: Argyll Kilt
I believe the Classic Argyll or "Argyle" style refers the style of jacket that came with the kit.
A good semi-formal out fit.
You guys really look sharp. What is the tartan?

Except that the jackets worn in the picture appear to be Prince Charlie jackets.
MGMorrison, can you tell us where you saw or heard of argyll kilts?
Nevermind, I googled them. I am sorry, I am not familiar with them. Chances are good that someone here is.

O.K., so we're talking about Argyll Bagpipes & Kilts? Sorry, I had never heard of them before. But I'm new to the kilt, so guess I should just wait for the hive mind to answer.
I still love that tartan though.

Wow, looks great!
I really love to get the Morrison Red, either Modern or Weathered.
By the way, bottle green hose and red flashes go great with the tartan.

I got mine (both hose and garter ties) from the Scottish Tartan Museum. The link is at the top of the page.
