They do have some nice offerings Tim, but I'm not sure whether or not they make Highland wear. I came across them last year and sent a couple of inquiring emails but never heard back from them. I assumed they weren't interested. I like some of the more dynamic tweeds and could certainly see my self wearing these two at least:

Sorry for the links but I cant get them to right click "copy image" "paste" to here. If someone else could provide me some education on the process I would appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Brooke

I was actually wondering if one could order tweed cloth from them from which someone else (e.g., USAKilts, STM, etc.) might make a bespoke jacket. (Not that Rocky and Matt et al have a dearth of tweeds to choose from to begin with, of course!)

Good question Tim. Although, I am not sure if USAK or STM offer jackets made of provided material as they outsource their jackets to third parties. Many of us have searched for US based makers of kilt jackets, and I have yet to hear of a person making them. Let us know if you find someone!

If Bookster doesn't sell tweed material, these people certainly can:

A bit pricey, but quality materials usually are.

Keep us posted on what you find

I don't want to speak for Matt, but if you send us a link to a particular tweed that you like, I can try to source the cloth for you. I've been known to pull off the occasional minor miracle with custom cloth.

Re: Is tweed your speed? even cheaper Bookster...

I have bought from Bookster. Now and then they will have a garment that either didn't work out for the original buyer or that they used for photo shoots. I have caught a couple of those on eBay and have ordered my own from them twice. As always, be generous when measuring. Taking in is easier than letting out.

Because of the nature of small-lot cloth production, it is possible to order items at different times that do not match perfectly, such as a jacket bought one year and trousers bought the next. The variation is subtle, though, and not displeasing.

I have run into some of their tweed fabrics being offered in other places- there are only so many mills, after all. It may be that they get some of them from supply houses known throughout the tailoring community. I would love to get a highland jacket from them, but as nearly as I can tell, there is no definitive answer on whether or not they are doing them. In the meantime, ordering swatches and taking/ sending them to highland dress tailors might to be worthwhile.

They do not make Highland attire items, specifically jackets and waistcoats - at least that is what they told me. However, one could easily purchase the tweed material and send it off to your tailor! I had inquired with them a couple of years ago - great website, and even greater tweeds! I love them all - a kilt jacket and waistcoat in all of them, I say!

    Cheers,
