I am pretty in love with a few awesome TV shows. I was wondering what everyone else likes.
Firstly, I am thrilled that Downton Abbey started up in the States again. Season 2 just aired here last week. Does anyone else watch that show? It's gorgeous. It's about high class British society in the early 1900s. Basically, it follows the life of one very high class family and it shows the life above stairs (family) and below stairs (servants). Totally awesome show. And the family is a really good family (and Maggie Smith can do no wrong.)
I also am a huge fan of:
-true blood
-The Walking Dead
-Game of Thrones (RABID fan of that show. I love I love I love I love)
-some reality shows like Survivor, Ghost Hunters, etc.
walking dead is just too good, isn't it. aside from english football and rangers hockey, it's really the only thing i watch on television...
getting a little (ok... a lot) tire of dale, though...
LOL poor Dale
I like that Daryl was so hated in the first season and now he's everyones favorite, and now Shane is going off the deep end.
The season finale of that show was just...heart breaking. I couldnt believe it when Sophia came out of the barn and Herschel had to watch his entire family get massacred like in a shooting field. Totally insane. That show is awesome because, while the zombies are obviously important, I think the show is mainly abut humanity. There are lots of times when the directors make us see the zombies as having a little bit of humanity to them (like when Amy reached up to Andrea right when she turned, and when Herschels family was shot down). Wonderful show.
I am having a laugh at how everybody is now speculating about what's going to happen on Downton Abbey...I have heard SO many ideas about who's going to get killed/maimed/blinded in the war and who's going to marry who and who's going to end up with Downton in the end...which, let's face it, is sort of a booby prize.
Interesting that Julian Fellowes (so...like...he's a Lord now? I just put that out for all the members who get obsessed with titles and peerages and such...) worked on Monarch Of The Glen...another series where the old estate was as much a millstone around the necks of the family as it was a blessing. Thus, my speculation is that it's not going to turn out well in the end...
But...still got Fringe and it sounds like Breaking In is coming back (unexpectedly!)...so we got Christian Slater (who was da bomb in My Own Worst Enemy...which got cancelled) and Bret Harrison (Reaper...also cancelled) and a good premise. Alcatraz might be okay...yet to watch it. Fox is making the other networks look pretty sad lately.

I watched Downton Abbey last season and was glad to see season 2 on air last Sunday. I like the series very much, but I was a bit peeved last season when they lifted an entire story line from the 1940's movie, Mrs. Miniver (The flower contest). Did anyone else recognize it?
I had forgotten just how "innocent" shows from the early 80s are. It's sort of refreshing to watch a show that doesn't rely on gratuitous stuff to propel a story. Isaac sprained his neck and had to wear one of those padded collars. He then proceded to wear his bowtie around the collar. Now that's funny.
I should add that my TV is not connected to the outside world except through its power cord, so if I watch anything it's on DVD that I've either bought, borrowed or Netflixed.

I have never seen this show. And although I love Maggie Smith, it sounds like a complete rip-off of "Upstairs, Downstairs" (go Jean Marsh!). Am I off base here?
