Stunning pictures, grizzbass! The marvels of Mother Nature.

Your lad should wear a kilt often - he's got the build for it.

Nice pictures. Brought back memories...my scout troop would camp at Joshua Tree once or twice a year back in the day. We had so much fun climbing those rocks. You and your son are so lucky!

I love vibrams. If it is not absolutely necessary to wear shoes that's what I wear.

I hadn't told him what you said but when he left for school this morning he was following it.

    Re: joshua tree 1/21/12

Back in 2006 I visited the Joshua Tree National Park whilst staying in Palm Springs. Alas, it was only a one-day visit, not a weekend one and, sadly, I did not see those extraordinary rock formations although there were huge 'heaps' of large rocks dotted about the park. Nevertheless, it was certainly an area well suited to photo shoots and here's one of many photos taken that day to prove the point:

The kilt is a semi-trad from USA Kilts in the Caledonia tartan - absolutely perfect for late summer in the desert!

    Take care,
    Ham.

Big rocks and kilts go together so well....

Maybe because it takes "stones" to wear the kilt....
