    Plum Tree

I just took out a decent-sized plum tree from my backyard. 99% of the stuff wound up in the garden throw-out can, but I've saved the really big branches (thigh-diameter) to put up on craigslist for a woodworker somewhere who wants a bit of nice blond wood for free.

I've saved out a few upper-arm-sized branches for myself and I just barked a stick that's about half the thickness of my wrist and about a foot long. I'll let it dry in the house a couple of feet away from a heater duct for a a month or so and then slice it up and see what it looks like. It might be boring as all get out, but who knows?

Sgian dubh handle? It'd make the knife just a little bit more personal if I knew I'd harvested the tree myself, and that it had grown in my home..

I have to prune a reasonably large cherry tree and I expect to get some decent size pieces for my efforts...certainly some nice sghian dhub handle size bits...order those blades from Atlanta Cutlery and go to town.

Depending on what you've got for wood working tools, a handle isn't that difficult to make and the blades are $15 from Atlanta Cutlery. It's a fun little project.

First you need to post pics of the tree
