Hmm... interesting fix! I'm going to have to chew on this for a while, look at my Utilikilt, and make sure I understand exactly what you did. But it may just be the trick for getting rid of that slightly annoying issue. Well done, sir!

The first step of putting the hem bonding tape in between the fabric layers - where the scissors are - and bonding the two layers with the iron may be all that is needed. If not, buy a denim or twill knee patch of the desired color (won't show - LOL) and cut it into two right triangles with the angle the same as the row of snaps. I use one now and the other for the next fiesty Utilikilt. Place it as pictured close to the left edge and 1/4 " away from the snaps and iron it down. While still hot I bent the left hem out at a 45 degree angle to help guide the apron onto my left thigh rather than stabbing it.
