Om nom nom nom
I am ready to be eaten!
:cthulhusmiley::cthulhusmiley::cthulhusmiley:
The inaugural event was the St. Andrews Society of Tokyo and Yokohama Burns supper in February.
Cthulhu belt buckle was a lucky eBay find, and the tentacle pendant was from an online retailer. Octopus kilt pin courtesy our very own Turbokittie (thank you again).
:cthulhusmiley::cthulhusmiley::cthulhusmiley:
It was additionally a splendid evening, with much drinking and carousing. I won a bottle of scotch which, in my sorry state, lost on the way back to the hotel that night...
Oh yeah, the kilt is a Matt Newsome 5-yard Kingussie pleat to the triple-purple.

Both of you look fantastic! It's nice to see so many of these kilts out and being worn.

It's about freakin' time that the floodgates opened! Both of you gentlemen look horrendous! Kudos to you, here's hoping to see a couple more in short order, and thank God that I will no longer be eaten first alone. :cthulhusmiley:

Nicely turned out Jim!
BTW: We all missed the anniversary of the tartan's first appearance HERE in YOUR original thread, Jim.

Lol. You look fantastic yourself. Indeed -- it's been quite a journey from a simple Cthulhu thread in the Misc. forum, to a rabble-wide phenomenon with well over a hundred yards of unique tartan woven, and plans for a second run!
And what's more, that thread is still semi-live (not locked) as far as I know... ;-)

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
I'm still amazed at this project, and the way it has taken off. I mean heck- Folks that aren't even Lovecraft fans are loving the tartan enough to want some yardage for themselves! And that, in turn, is prompting these folks to read Lovecraft. Or prompting folks who haven't read any in a long time to pick it back up.
Solidarity, my friends. THAT'S precisely what Xmarks is supposed to be about.

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
These are all seriously fab. Its going to be a few weeks before I can start on Gareth's kilt, and I'm still pondering how best to reflect the colours in a bonnet without being too garish, but I'm so looking forwards to starting work on both

I got a box!!!!
Hi all,
Got a call from Amy that the kilts had arrived! I went to her office during luch to pick them up.
Pictures to follow tonight.
The kilts look assume! Will see how well they fit tonight. In the box was also a passport for each kilt, a set of flashes, the yard I'm using for a waistcoat and the scraps. Will have more than enough for another set of flashes (and a good exmple to follow ), Cthulhu's mini-kilt and still have a lot left.
Jim
