Let us not be so thin-skinned. Shed the 'tude, dude.
I don't see any racism there (take a look at any dictionary to see how racism is defined).
He probably mean cheap stuff made in Pakistan.
Let us smile and move on, else they might shut this down.

Look, I get it. Its the internet so you can say whatever you want.
I was just pointing out that using very racist terms about those of Pakistani origin probably isn't ok on here?
I get that the term isn't common in America, but it is here. And seeing that this is a kilt website, I'm assuming there are people from Scotland here (who may even be of Pakistani descent themselves)
And understand your attitude that people who speak out against racism are only trying to be 'PC'.
Whatever, I don't really care what you say around other people, I was just pointing out that people may be seriously offended by it.
Didn't think I would get abuse back about that

Secondly, I was suggesting that maybe there's a different attitude towards racism in America, as it seems that it is Americans who are defended the use of the word.
I did not say all Americans are racist, as some suggested.

Speaking as only one American,
I'm not racist, but I'm not PC, either.
I will go to great lengths to not knowingly use any racists words.
I will not go to great lengths to discover words that others -- particularly outside my sphere of familiarity -- consider racist.
If informed that a certain word is racist, I won't use it.
I wouldn't imagine Thomas H feels much differently.
Chinese goods similarly have a reputation for less-than-stellar quality control. Without implying racism, one can infer that something "Made in China" may have lower than desired quality, simply due to the point where that country's industry lies on the quality control learning curve.
Is it racist? Nope.
Is it nationalist? Possibly.

You'd be well advised to stop while you're only moderately far behind, friend, and let this thread get back on track, as has been suggested by several others.

Sorry I should probably just drop this.
But the problem wasn't with suggesting Pakistani kilt products are of lower quality or 'crap'. I've owned some, and in my opinion they are pretty bad. I don't think that's racist, or even nationalist. Just my experience and opinion.
And in comparison to Scottish kilts, theyre almost unanimously considered lower quality.
I understand now that the term used isn't considered racist in America. Which explains the response I received. But this is the Internet, not America.
And considering this is a site about kilts, there are likely to be Scottish people here, or even Americans who are interested in Scotland and have some knowledge of the culture of the place.
I was just informing the OP that the term used may be offensive to these people, who know its use in Scotland.
Sorry if I caused any offence by doing so.

Take that back. How dare you impune all Americans, or all people anywhere. You have revealed your own bigotry. You owe us all an apology.
