Mine are all pretty tame compared to some I see in this thread, but here they are anyway. 3 kilts and 3 kilt pins.

Came across this pin of a Celtic water horse at a local thrift store, and this thread inspired me to use it as a kilt pin.

Well I'm reviving this, one of my favourite threads!
As I mentioned earlier, it has been surprising me what a small proportion of the things we are wearing on our kilts were designed as kilt pins. Most seem to be brooches or pins in the general sense, though it seems that any object whatever that a person might own, that's small enough, will get worn on a kilt!
I thought I would add to this thread a few photos of interesting vintage kilt pins; offtopic in a way because they're not pins I actually own, but vintage pins which have come up on Ebay and I was outbid or in some cases never bid because the price was too high.
They're all traditional kilt pins, obviously designed as such, and have interesting motifs.
First this interesting one showing what appears to be the top of an old church, possibly St Giles, Edinburgh. Can anyone help identify it? (EDIT: is this the Wallace Monument, Stirling?)

This motif or logo is quite familiar to me, but for the life of me I can't remember where I've seen it... I think it's related to Edinburgh but I just can't remember.

Recently on Ebay somebody was selling two vintage kilts, and each kilt bore this same kilt pin! I didn't want the kilts but I sure would have liked to have one of these pins.

A while back somebody was selling this stunning vintage Robert Allison silver kilt pin with a lovely Celtic Cross. The specific cross is one quite familiar to me but I'd have to look it up because I can't remember what it's called

Now this is a modern kilt pin, but interesting (to me anyhow) because it bears the specifically shaped thistle which is the logo for Scotland Rugby, with the thistle inclining to the left. The seller wasn't aware of that.

I really appreciate you reopening the thread, OC. It's one of my favorites.
I thought I would share a couple of pins I acquired over the last year. The first was a gift. It's a vintage silver and agate baskethilt that, for me, was too delicate to dangle from a kilt, so I've been using it as a hat pin. It gets more exposure that way anyway.

The second is a silver Iona longboat that spoke to the Scandinavian side of my heritage. The seller believed it was probably cast from an Alexander Ritchie mold in the 30s or 40s. Other than the word "Silver," the other markings on the back are too faint to make out—at least for my eyes. Any additional information from the Rabble on its possible origin would be greatly appreciated.

www.earthartinternational.com it just a regular pin - light for a kilt pin. But wanted something for the Antarctic tartan. Lots of cool animal pins at the site.

I'm not sure if I posted my axe pin but I know I never posted it after I repaired it.

I was carrying my heavy assortment of paintings and things in a case on a wheeled trolley down the front steps to walk to the Saturday market one time and at the bottom when I let the whole package onto the ground, it got caught on this kilt pin and it ripped off the back pin clasp part. I repaired it later using a thick metal wire and reforming the pin ... I like the look of the metal wire wrapped around holding the pin clasp onto the axe part.
