www.earthartinternational.com it just a regular pin - light for a kilt pin. But wanted something for the Antarctic tartan. Lots of cool animal pins at the site.

I'm not sure if I posted my axe pin but I know I never posted it after I repaired it.

I was carrying my heavy assortment of paintings and things in a case on a wheeled trolley down the front steps to walk to the Saturday market one time and at the bottom when I let the whole package onto the ground, it got caught on this kilt pin and it ripped off the back pin clasp part. I repaired it later using a thick metal wire and reforming the pin ... I like the look of the metal wire wrapped around holding the pin clasp onto the axe part.

Oh, but you can't have the exact same kilt pin ... since mine broke and I had to fix it ;-) ..... seriously though , it was a great kilt pin before it's refurbishment (I got mine off ebay) but now it has a story attached to it.

I was thinking a bit about the axe as a symbol. Unlike a sword, an axe is not only weapon with which to protect oneself (although I doubt this three inch version would be much protection except against rabid squirrels when I'm walking in the park) but it is also useful as a symbol for creating shelter and chopping wood ~ and so, although I'm sure I'd probably not initially be in much shape to cut down trees of make a shelter, at least this pin symbolizes that realization ;-)

(I also have a sward kilt pin with Anderson clan motto "Stand Sure" with the oak tree but I kind of like this dull looking bronze axe better)
