As for the "how it is done" factor this is often taken with a pinch of salt by those observing it. We will either do the same ourselves from personal preference or we will not. I like plaids in certain circumstances, for example, others would not wear one under any circumstances whatsoever.
All part of the variety that makes this forum so enjoyable.
