Grizzly - I know Romsey well. The Abbey is lovely, although it was where we had the funerals for both my other half's parents.

I've not been too impressed by the only Cornish tartans I've seen. Where could I get a kilt made up for me in one if I wanted?

    from Toronto.

Even more exciting when it's below freezing and there's a brisk wind!

I realise that by Toronto or Inverness standards this will sound hopelessly effete and decadent, but we've been really cold in Croydon ever since I got my kilt in late January until last week (the daffodils are beginning to bloom).

But it was a bit of a buzz going out kilted when it was near freezing so I will look forward to doing so again.

Someone said to me "Don't you get cold?" and I lied bravely "No more than I do on my face". The trick, I take it, is to wrap up the upper part of the body serioulsy and have really stout kilt hose.

Goodie. Yahoo tells me it will be below freezing tomorrow. This could be fun.

I've put Bastille Day in Harpenden in the diary. Is this some sort of serendipitous celebration of the Auld Alliance? I can go to church in Croydon in my kilt and then take a direct train from East Croydon to Harpenden

I thoroughly recommend our own Paul Henry he is only a stones throw from you in Kingston upon Thames. He is making a kilt for me as we speak. Close enough to you to get measured properly and for fittings. His work is superb.
