Not sue what you mean by a 'pin stripe'?

Ah, got it. That's because it's not a pivot, merely part of the sett and therefore such a stripe will always appear off centre to one or other pivot. Other than being part of the sett, it has nothing to do per se with the size or the repeat.

Not sure if this is relevant , but the sett looks fairly large .
